Taipei 101

Mountain Elephant –Xiangshan
Mountain Elephant is a great place for you to escape the chaos of Taipei. It offers a spectacular view of Taipei both day and night. After a solid 15 to 20 minutes of stair climbing, you get to see the panoramic view of Taipei city. PersonalIy, I would recommend tourists to visit at night to avoid the humidity and heat. Elephant Mountain is accessible through Taipei MRT. Get out from Xiangshan MRT Station Exit 2 and with approximately 10 minuted of walk you’ll arrive at the hiking trail’s entrance.
Xinyi Public Assembly Hall
Xinyi Public Assembly Hall, also known as Four-four South Village, provides travelers with an important glimpse of the Xinyi District’s past. The buildings were originally homes where Taiwanese veterans and their families lived. Due to land development and reconstruction, all residents move out in 1999 and this place was destined for demolition. However, the former residents and members of cultural associations provoked a preservation movement for the village and this gave birth to the Four-four South Village. If you are interested in handicrafts and some locally-made art, this is the perfect place to visit. Xinyi Public Assembly Hall is only within walking distance from Taipei 101.

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park
This park was initially a tobacco factory under the Japanese government in 1937. Today, it has transformed into a creative hub of Taipei. Exhibitions, galleries, bookstores, and Cafés, you can find a lot of artsy stuff and stores around here. Come and immerse yourself in art and culture!

Sun-Yat-Sen Memorial Hall
National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall was built in 1972. The memorial hall was built to commemorate the founder of Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. It takes about 15 minutes walking there from Taipei 101. The best time to visit is during the changing of the guards every hour.

Night Market Near Taipei 101 – Linjiang St (Tonghua) Night Market
Night market is the best way to learn more about Taiwanese food culture. With hundreds of stalls selling local street foods all night, you get to try out foods like ”Ice and hot rice ball”, ”Pan-fried bun”, ”Squid potage soup”, ”Pig Blood Cake”, ”Deep-fried potato ball”, ”Gua Bao”, ”Grass jelly” and ”Stinky tofu”!
